Sonata Model 2012. We received one of these in dark grey color tonight, finally~! |
So I rushed back from the farm. The children were excited. We were planning to take a joy ride in the new car over the weekend.
Alas...
After arriving at the show room, I was promised (again), it would be ready by Thursday! This time, I didn't put much hope. As it turned out, the promise was again shattered, but unlike the first time, I was cool!
So I asked, "Please tell me when you can really deliver..." I emphasized the word REALLY!
"Saturday after Asar, InshaAllah!" Said the sales manager, promising.
"Mia Mia?" I asked. (Meaning, "100percent?")
"Inshaallah" he replied again with a smile.
After asar I arrived.
The sales manager approached me apologetically.
"Before Isya, it will be ready!" He said.
"Before Isya, it will be ready!" He said.
I was lost for words! Another broken promise!
All I could do was to nod, and retreated with only a few words, "Okey, before Isya I will come back!"
I got there just in time before they closed for the Isya prayer. He saw me coming and got off his seat and ushered me to a nice sofa for waiting. "Oh no! Not again!" My heart sank.
"Coffee or Tea? It will be ready very soon, just fixing the number plate!" He assured me, yet again renewing his promise!
I asked for tea.
Soon, the Muadzin called for prayer, and I joined the congregation in the show room.
The prayer finished. I went back to the nice sofa. Half an hour later, the tea still did not arrive. I waited, and started to type this entry on my blackberry.
"It is ready! Mabrook!" Said the sales manager, breaking my concentration.
It was 9 pm!
PS: The Sales manager was one of the nicest Saudi men I have met recently. Forever smiling and calm. He made me forgive him for the broken promises. But but...it will a while before I can forget about the hassle I had to go through due to the broken promises.
PSS: Making promises they can't deliver seem to be quite normal here. I got back home to find out the internet was still not working despite repeated calls and repeated promises by the service provider to come and fix it today! So I called again, even though it was already 10pm. He answered, ever so politely and told me another promise!
Oh well...we shall wait and see.

hahaha..people nowadays really are not thinking about the effect of breaking promises to their business...
ReplyDeleteA lot of people love to be NATO, no action talk onlly. They love to give false hope just in the name of to look iimpressive to the other party. Things were not not carried as per said. White lying is common in their vocalb.

Empower yourself. Betrayal is the worse kind disrespect anyone can dish out to someone in a trusting relationship.
