Layanan TIDAK mesra d Kuala Lipis!

We were passing through K Lipis on the way back to KL when I decided to stop for lunch and also Jamak Qasar prayer of Zuhur and Asar.

We drove into the town and found a row of food stalls operated by Melayu. We approached the stalls, and to my surprise none of the owners smiled. In fact they were frowning and gave us the impression we were intruding! That prompted me to check my shirt - not even yellow or green with a white circle in the middle~! So why the angry faces??

We chose one of the gerai where the owner was busy memotong cili kering, and occupied two tables. Upon seeing a young man at the next table having ice kacang, Luqman asked for the same.

"Sini tak de ice kacang. Itu gerai sebelah!" Retorted one of the pelayan who was attending to us.
I was shocked and unhappy with the reply.

"Boleh order dari sebelah?" I asked.

"Tak boleh, meja sini kena order dari sini!" Said she.
Unbelievable!

I looked towards the owner who was so engrossed with her memotong cili kering! She looked at me, blank face, not even a shrug of the shoulder. OMG, these people have no emotion what-so-ever!

Aishah asked for mineral water.
"Baru habis. Orderlah air buah, ada!" She said.

I gestured to Aishah to get up and leave. What rotten attitude I thought.
We did walked out, and walked into another one about 3 stalls away so as to avoid any uneasy situation.

The owner was herself having lunch.
"Makan lah dulu, saya habis makan boleh order air!" She said.

Errrr. Aishah and I looked at each other.
"Apa pasal teruk sangat!" I said softly. Only meant for Aishah.

Oh no, the lady owner who was having lunch overheard. She blurted, "Dah kalau teruk, pergi makan kat tempat lain!"

We left. I lost my appetite. Fortunately, not my temper. However, I also lost any regards I had for those bunch of food stall operators at that particular place in Kuala Lipis!

I should have taken some pictures! But I was too pissed off to think about capturing their "muka masam" on camera!

Oh well...we decided to go hungry and wait for the next stop!

  2. Teruknya ..agaknya memang penjual kat situ bermusuh antara satu sama lain .. tapi kenapa pelanggan jadi mangsa ..rezeki tak berkat(kalau ada pun rezeki kat situ) ... sometimes tu yang buat malas nak singgah gerai2 , baik cari restoran aje .

  4. Sarina....kami juga berpendapat begitu....memang mereka tidak menunjukkan kemesraan di antara satu sama lain...bermasam muka...tak best nya~!

  5. that's most unfortunate. kita berniaga nak lure customers. kalau sullen and rude macam tu, sapa pun tak nak patronise. thanks for telling, akan dijadikan panduan..

    Sebiji serupa dengan iklan di THR Gegar mengenai layanan tuan kedai ni.
    Nampaknya kita kena buka restoren kat situ dan tunjuk kepada mereka cara mana nak layan pelanggan.

  7. Malu saya dengar sikap buruk orang berniaga makan di Kuala Lipis.

    Next time bila Bro PP lalu Kuala Lipis, drop by at Kg Penjom, 6 miles away from town. There is a kedai makan run by Encik Kudus. The kedai makan located in front of my alma mater, SK Penjom. Masjid pun dekat.

    There, you can find Sambal Hitam, and Gulai Tempoyak Ikan Patin. He's a chatty person. Known him since young.

    Saya pun jarang-jarang singgah di K.Lipis untuk makan. Entah, kurang selera.

    P.S Kalau Pak Kudus tak layan Bro PP baik-baik, siap saya kerjakan! Hehehe!

    gerai2 tu d stesen bas....!

    coincidently, kami singgah di mesjid di Penjom untuk solat jamak qasar zuhur dan asar.
    Memang ada restoren di sebelah kiri jalan, dengan label besar tertulis,"Nasi dagang, nasi kerabu, sup gear box". Tetapi kami tidak singgah, kerana appetitie belum ada...setelah episod di gerai di stesen bas.

    Apa2 pun kami doakan mereka sentiasa murah rezki, dan semoga maju jaya dalam perniagaan.

  11. Puteri Kama :-) saya menulis semoga kita sedari sikap some of our peniaga...~! Kebetulan kami baru pulang dari Kelantan...di sana, mek mek menjaga restoren dan gerai2 begitu ramah mesra dengan senyumn simpul :P

  13. I see that happen in JB too and most unfortunate tgk org melayu yg mcm tu. Gerai cina tak kisah pun kalau you nak duduk kat meja/kerusi mereka dan order food dari gerai melayu disebelah. Tapi org melayu tak bg you duduk di meja mereka if tak order frm them! Cina siap amek order utk gerai melayu lagik ada lah!
